A ministerial dialogue on the margins of the 2nd Africa Climate Summit (ACS2), hosted by the governments of Kenya and Sierra Leone.
Building on the Nairobi Leaders’ Declaration (ACS1) and the work of the Global Solidarity Levies Task Force (GSLTF)—including progress showcased at FfD4 (Seville) and the announcement by an eight-nation coalition pursuing a solidarity levy on premium class air travel and private jets—this session will:
a) Consolidate Africa’s agenda on innovative climate-finance instruments.
b) Welcome new announcements to join the aviation-levy coalition; and
c) Conclude with adoption of the Addis Ababa Statement on Progressive Climate Levies.
