Who will shape the International Tax System of the future?

The OECD welcomed the participation of non-members countries to jointly develop BEPS-related issues. This Inclusive Framework continued for elaborating the Pillar 1 and 2 solutions. At the same time, the United Nations came up with innovative new solutions to modify the existing Model Conventions. These efforts culminated in the creation of a new special committee – the Ad Hoc Committee – which will design a new tax convention.

This new development will lead to a duplication of the work done by the OECD and the United Nations on the one hand and to more significant differences between the OECD and the UN Model Conventions on the other hand. During three panels in our 3rd WU Global Tax Seminar, distinguished scholars from around the globe will analyze the latest international tax trends at the level of the OECD and the United Nations and discuss the question of who will shape the International Tax System of the future.
