The first Council Meeting of the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO) was held preceding the CIAT/IOTA Tax Summit on Digital Economy in Lisbon, Portugal.

The first Council Meeting of the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO) was held preceding the CIAT/IOTA Tax Summit on Digital Economy in Lisbon, Portugal. Representatives of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA), theInter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), the Tax Administrators Circle for Reflection and Exchange (CREDAF), the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF)and the International Tax Compact, in its capacity as NTO Secretariat, consulted on items of the NTO work plan 2018/2019 and discussed key activities that will be implemented in the coming months. These will include, amongst others,providing e-learning courses for NTO members’ tax administrations, running a series of webinars on administrative issues faced by the tax organisations, and conducting collective research projects on topics of common interest,such as digitalisation. NTO council members also agreed to establish an “NTO Moment” during major events of their respective networks. The meeting was headed by the first term’s Head of the NTO Council, Marcio Verdi, CIAT Executive Secretary.
