TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO TANZANIA REVENUE AUTHORITY TO IMPLEMENT THE 6TH CORPORATE PLAN

Good tax policies and effective tax collection can promote the development of an equal society. Technical cooperation between Finnish and Tanzanian Tax Administration started in the end of 2018 and additional funding was granted until the end of 2022. The long term objective is to increase central government tax revenue and tax compliance in Tanzania. Direct outcome of the project is to strengthen institutional capacity in TRA to implement the new Sixth Corporate Plan especially to improve tax compliance. The project has four main outputs 1) Strengthening of TRA's risk management and case selection processes and improvement of examination continuum with previous activities 2) TRA is supported by strengthening customer orientation and customer experience 3) Improving and strengthening TRA's change management skills 4) Supporting TRA in use of behavioral insights planning and executing practical pilot.
