GFI INCREASING DRM BY PROMOTING CORPORATE NATURAL RESOURCE AND PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY GHANA

Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII). This will conduct research and the produce policy resources including a report policy briefs a video and factsheets on the gaps in the legislative framework of beneficial ownership as well as the connection between beneficial ownership to IFFs in the real estate sector. GII will seek to engage with private and public sector stakeholders to promote the incorporation of illicit enrichment in Ghana's Criminal Code. GII will also conduct research including a scoping report on the professional standards and Anti Money Londering (AML) obligations of gatekeepers in Ghana. GII's advocacy efforts will focus on the publication of factsheets to use for advocacy with government private sector civil society and journalists as well as organizing meetings with stakeholders to highlight the role of professional enablers in facilitating IFFs. GII will play a supporting role in the organization of journalist training for a small component of the training on illicit money going into the real estate sector in Ghana.Capitalizing on Friends of the Nations's (FoN'S) expertise and experience in the extractives sector their work will focus on research and advocacy on illicit financial flows in the mining cacao and fisheries sectors of Ghana. This will include the publication of three reports mapping supply chain issues that limit domestic resource mobilization in each of the three sectors as well as efforts to engage on natural resource and tradeintegrity issues with stakeholders in the private sector government media international organizationsand civil society. Finally FoN will take the lead on providing journalist training focusing on education andinvestigative techniques to produce analysis of illicit financial flows in connection with the mining cacaoand fisheries sectors.
